Avoid this place. Let me begin by noting that after spending five days in Slovenia, Ive had both excellent and mediocre culinary experiences, though nothing approaching what I experienced at Landerik. Most glaringly, the service was absolutely horrendous. This was the worst service I have had in Europe in over ten years of traveling to France, Italy, Germany, Luxembourg, and many others. For example, we asked the server what he thought of the soup and he said hmmm...it 's beef soup . Then my wife asked to clarify We just want to know if you think its good or what it brings . To which he replied what do you think I 'm going to say, its good . He said so with a dismissive and condescending attitude that I 've rarely experienced before. Both servers today (Sunday, September 15th 2024) had stern looks, no smiles, no kindness toward their guests. They were instead rude and condescending. These people look like they hate their jobs and I cannot for the life of me understand how this restaurant could have garnered 4.5 stars, particularly when you compare it to the service and culinary experience at a place like Most . Let me now discuss the food. Skipping the complimentary appetizer which was not only forgettable but also underwhelming (the bread was not fresh and the paste flavorless), I had as my main dish a tagliatelle, carbonara style, that tasted like nothing. I ate at Most the day before and their tagliatelle was fantastic, full of flavor and cooked to perfection (al dente). Despite having a few tiny pieces of bacon and truffle, Landerik 's tagliatelle might as well have been a plate of overcooked pasta with no ingredients, not even salt. It was insipid. I had pasta at IVO in Piran that was half the price and just orders of magnitude better than this pasta. I don 't think I 've ever had a worst pasta dish in my life and I do not exaggerate. My wife 's ravioli, the Chef 's pasta, was equally insipid and lacking in flavor. What is most glaring about this place is the gap between the presentation versus the quality and flavor of the dishes nothing to do with lne another. Finally, the ambiance of the place was steril, going with a modern look that had as much character as a mailbox. The lack of music, bright lights reminiscent of a hospital room, and the rushed, stern, and bad adjusted looks of its waiters, all conspired to make this place depressing. I do not recommend that you give your business to Landerik, particularly when there are so many other restaurants in Solvenia that care about service, quality, and the customer 's experience. If I had to summarize Landerick in a single word it would be: flavorless. Flavorless food. Flavorless ambiance. Flavorless (rather bitter) service. P.S. I seldom take the time to write a review if I dont think I am being helpful, either to my fellow food enthusiasts or to the managers and owners of restaurants or places I wish to better. I truly hope the owner of Landerik takes my comments seriously and would be more than happy to provide more nuanced criticism if asked. Slovenia is a beautiful place that could punch far higher in tourism than it does currently; part of that process should entail listening carefully to critical feedback.

We savored five amazing dishes, all whipped up with local ingredients (when the chef could swing it). The evening wrapped up perfectly with a killer gin and tonic, spiced up with peppercorns and sun-dried oranges—delicious enough to make you rethink your usual nightcap! We went for the 4 course set menu €55), every course was delicious but the dessert was a real highlight. Our waitress was lovely and very informative about the food. Wine prices were reasonable. It was our most expensive meal in Slovenia, but well worth the money for how much we got and for how good all the food was. Highly recommend! Service: Dine in
