Zen - LIVORNO

We came to the Zen restaurant after reading some ecstatic reviews here on TripAdvisor but we were kinda disappointed. I mean the food wasn't terrible.. we tasted far worse unfortunately : but it wasn't particularly good either. The fish didn't seem particularly fresh and the rice seemed a little over-cooked, with that soft-sticky feeling that you won't expect from a Japanese weel-cooked rice. The overall lunch was less than average, again not terrible at all, but still not satisfying quality-wise. On the quantity side all the courses were definitely sufficient. But then the price came and again it was just a little more than we'd expect. And once again not terribly more, just a little bit too much. So all in all if you're desperate for Japanese food and you can't find any other, than it's not the worst you'll find but there's a looooong way to go up to 5 stars... IMO, of course :

Was there and have tried Zen sushi... Can say I wasn't impressed. Food is not bad but also so fare from real Japanese cuisine. Service ok ... not good not bad. Also was so noisy there ... we couldn't hear each other. Sorry, but I think ...was there first and last time. For the restaurant I wish work more on service and food quality. And good luck.

Ok portions and ok food to be delivered but the portions were not that big and the prices very quite high
