Another jewel we could experience. Fabulous food, ambience and landscape. Oliver and Africa and their teams were great and the elephants are sweet for words. A great place to visit when you are in the area. Thank you very much! View all feedback.
We discovered another gem during our visit. The food was amazing, and the ambiance and scenery were breathtaking. Oliver, Africa, and their teams provided excellent service, and the elephants were simply adorable. It’s a must-visit spot if you’re in the area. Thank you so much!
If you find yourself in Livingstone, you absolutely cannot miss this experience. We were taken there by an incredible jet boat pilot, Masau, who truly is the best in the business. Along the way, we encountered various hippos, which was a sight to behold. The interaction with the elephants is truly extraordinary, and afterward, you're treated to a delicious meal made from locally sourced ingredients. It was simply heavenly. Everything about this experience is fantastic.
This place offers delicious food with vegetarian options available. However, the real highlight of the evening is the opportunity to feed and spend time with the elephants, which is a truly unique experience. It feels as though you are in an animal sanctuary. While it is a bit pricey, it's worth it considering that most activities in the area tend to be expensive as well.
I found out about the Elephant Café in the night before we arrived in Zambia and decided to splash (this is NOT a cheap activity), after all this was our honeymoon! There are two ways to get to the café, a 20-minute drive or 30-minute boat ride, which includes a short tour through the Zambezi River. Choose the boat trip! This was one of the funniest experiences of our entire journey through the river, to see small rapids and stops birds, hippos and crok with our guide who was like our own Steve Irwin! Once you arrive at the café, the first-class 5-star service begins. You get a short briefing from the café owner and go to the elephant trainers that you will introduce to these amazing animals. Each elephant has his own personal trainer who gives you a bag of peanuts to feed them, these guys are like the giraffes all they wanted to do is eat and eat. After the elephant food, go to the restaurant for dinner, which was the best meal we had in Zambia! Everything was fresh and made to order. Wines were included with dinner with special cocktails for a surcharge. Professional photos and a short video for your Instagram are also included. You will also take photos with your phone if you want. During dinner we started a lonely hippo that goes into the elephant stable, apparently this hippo comes here for a while and made friends with the elephants! Hippos usually remains in the pack, so it is quite rare to be on your own.
What a great team they have at The Elephant Cafe lead by Africa. Great experience seeing the elephants and the cuisine is great
