What Shawn P likes about Eppes Essen:
Very pricey, but delicious. Did a great job at catering my son’s bris… not only was the owner patient with my mother, but called to check in after to ensure everything was smooth. Extremely generous portions (which is nice at this price point) but our guests all loved the food. I expected delicious corned beef and and pastrami, and was not disappointed, but was very pleasantly surprised by the delicious black and whi... View all feedback. UPDATE TO OWNER...NO it was definitely your establishment and I have the receipt and photos as proof! We are the couple that you IGNORED when you asked the only other Patrons that were there how they were doing. It said volumes of why you were empty at lunch time for such a reasonably priced pastrami Sandwich. Rather than get defensive perhaps just listen. It is no Harolds! read moreEppes Essen is a popular deli in New Jersey with a mixed reputation. Some customers have had negative experiences, citing issues with the quality of the food, service, and cleanliness of the restaurant. However, others have raved about the delicious pastrami sandwiches, matzoh ball soup, and traditional Jewish dishes. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality of the food seems to be worth it for many patrons. Overall, Eppes Essen seems to be a hit or miss for customers, with some loving it and others feeling disappointed.

Sandwiches were superb, onion rings as well. Deserts to go. A definite 10 out of 10!
Amazing! The matzoh ball soup was incredible, bright golden color, super hot with soft and tender matzoh. Pastrami was flavorful and tender without being greasy...
