The food at the Pen Factory was delicious! We ordered small plates to share and enjoyed the cozy ambiance with the fire lit. Our afternoon at the Pen Factory was flawless. View all feedback.
What spottybag doesn't like about The Pen Factory:

We have been regulars at the Pen Factory since it first opened and love the atmosphere. However, we have been disappointed with the food in recent visits. The dishes are overpriced and not up to the same standard as when the restaurant first opened. The mussels and panna cotta we had were possibly the worst we've ever tasted. We believe they should focus on keeping the menu simple and well-executed. Despite its prime location, the high prices are making us consider coming only for drinks. Additionally, the service needs improvement as nobody checked if we were satisfied with our meal. It's a shame because we really enjoy the ambience of the Pen Factory.
We had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant. The beers and wines were excellent, and the food was cooked to perfection. We enjoyed dishes such as olives, Whitebait, a large salad, cod with hassleback potatoes and a delicious sauce, followed by three homemade ice creams for dessert. We also indulged in a pint of real ale and a bottle of Raix Baxas Albariño. The total bill came to £95, including a 10% tip. In our opinion, this restaurant is hard to beat in Liverpool.
Beautifully presented and cooked food using seasonal products. We shared 4 of the smaller plates between 3 of us and we were all happily full (including my 6'2 19-year old son). Really friendly staff, lovely atmosphere with some live jazz in the background, and perfect for a pre-theatre dinner.
Amazing food in a great ambience and excellent service. Imaginative veggie dishes too. Staff are geared up for theatre goers so, whilst we didn't feel rushed, nor were we anxious about missing curtain up at the nearby Everyman Theatre
