Decent portions, lightly battered fish, nice chips (not hard or too greasy). Good quality Greek meals (though sometimes too much onion). Tasty Chinese meals. Clean environment. Friendly, trustworthy staff (I forgot my change one time and they kept it for me when I next ordered a meal there, you don 't get that very often). Visited many times over the last 30 years, when we lived in the area. We moved several years ag... View all feedback.
What Peter C doesn't like about Steves:
Visited Steve's to pick up a couple of portions of chips for my Neices we were babysitting and take to the park. We paid £5.50!! for two portions of cold (attempted reheated) so call chips which were greasy and tasteless. Staff were arrogant and cocky but we ignored that and took the price hike tiny portions of reheated garbage anyway. We only discovered the quality of the food when we were in the park so couldn't re... View all feedback.
Very poor . Kebabs a joke. Nit goouef.on s skewer no naan bread . Fish n chips average. Mot recommended. Ordering disorganised.
I ordered a chicken kebab expecting chunks of chicken on a skewer and a traditional clay oven naan bread. Instead, I received some unappetizing pieces of chicken from a rotisserie in a cold pita bread, which looked unappetizing. The establishment does not seem to know how to properly cook a kebab. I have never had a satisfactory kebab in Liverpool. What is the issue? It's not that hard. I will be going back to the curry mile where they know how to make a proper kebab with chicken cubes on a skewer and naan bread. Avoid this place, as the staff is also unfriendly.
I couldn't find parking nearby due to school holidays, so I went during lunchtime and ordered the Haddock and Chips at Steve's. It was absolutely delicious. The haddock was perfectly cooked, creamy underneath the crispy batter, and served with hot chips. The staff were great too. I ended up parking near Sefton Park under a canopy of autumn leaves in my car, and it felt like a better experience than dining at a country restaurant. Thank you to everyone at Steve's for a wonderful meal.
I had a visitor staying for the weekend so for one of evenings I asked him what he would like for his evening meal, he said fish chips from Steve's chippy. I went along, I was served as soon as I went in, the fish and chips had already been cooked so I was in and out like a flash. Came home looking forward to our fish and chips only to discover when opening the chips alot of the chips where really brown like they where burnt! I was fuming. We salvaged the better ones to eat and sat down to eat them only to find they where cold and not fresh chips also the fish unfortunately was the same. Just over 15 pounds it cost! I did ring to complain, he did say he'd had a few complaints about the chips he said they had a bad batch of potatoes and they weren't burnt it was just the way they cooked. My opinion is he still shouldn't have served them to his customers like that. Although I don't go to the chippy that much this has definitely put me off going there again.

We only discovered the quality of the food when we were in the park so couldn't really go all the way back. Fast forward to this morning baring in mind hardly any of the food was eaten. Both my neices and myself and my wife are all poorly today. This chip shop used to be very good and dont know who now runs or owns but we certainly won't be visiting again. Premium price for very poor quality reheated rubbish. Avoid
