Absolutely fantastic Italian cuisine with excellent service. We spend a lot of time in Italy and this is really home. Only it can't fail and will definitely be back. View all feedback.
What Sonia Baker doesn't like about Piccolino Liverpool:
On December 29th, I brought a group of 15 people to this restaurant and we had a terrible dining experience. It took more than an hour for our food to be served. View all feedback.
Wonderful choice for a delightful evening with great Italian food It's a great choice for a change of pace and a real Italian ambience experience
Good food and good service reasonable prices on Liverpool on the city centre. The spaghetti carbonara and the spaghetti frutti di mare were delicious... too full to try any dolce. thanks for a lovely evening.
Piccolino isn't one of my favourite Italian restaurants in Liverpool but it isn't too bad. I'd say the quality of food is ok, there's nothing particularly wrong with it, it just doesn't excite me. One of the things I do love about Piccolino is the staff, they are always so friendly, polite and helpful. They seem to genuinely want to be there and provide a good service, which is a rarity these days. One of the downsides, however, is the cost. It can be quite costly considering the standard of food but I did wonder if they pay their staff a lot. Would perhaps explain their enthusiasm! How cynical of me.
This eating experience was absolutely awful. The scallops served in the shell were amazing, and the cheeses were good. Everything else was terrible. The salmon with saffron was bland and the fish was overlooked and dry (I've had this same dish at the location in Chester and it was WAY better). I ordered a halibut special and guess what...it was overcooked, too. I thought I was eating roasted chicken breast it was so dry. The service was fine, but I had much higher expectations of the food after having a very good experience at their Chester location. We spent upwards of £100 for one bottle of rose wine, scallops, cheese, and two overcooked fish entrees. I don't mind spending a lot of money on food, but this simply was not worth it. I would never trust this place with my dinner, ever again.
First of all the service was absolutely on point! Our wine glasses were never empty, the food came quick and they even charged my phone behind the bar! To start we had oysters which were fresh and came with the hottest Tabasco sauce, definitely a must! We had the lobster with pasta which was delicious, and not too rich! We had the house Pinot Grigio which was also crisp and fresh and went well with the main. We ended with the cheese board, which had a good selection with the most beautiful blue cheese! It 'blue ' my mind. The staff could not do enough for you in a calm and professional environment. The decor was stylish and appropriate for the high quality of the meal, which would definitely be ideal for special occasions, anniversaries, graduations. High quality food, fabulous vibe.
