Grilla Allerton - Liverpool

I recently discovered this charming restaurant now known as Souvla. The food and service were excellent and authentic, transporting me to Greece. The prices were very reasonable, and I highly recommend trying the chicken gyros.

I was disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. The gyros had very little chicken and what was there was mostly fat, making it difficult to eat. I did not order chips, but they were included in my meal, both on the side and inside the gyros. While the chips were good, I felt there should have been more chicken and salad in the gyros instead. It seemed like they added chips as a cheap alternative. I had been looking forward to dining here for 18 months, but unfortunately, I will not be returning.

I recently ordered takeout from this restaurant and was disappointed to discover that the quality and taste had greatly decreased. The cheese croquettes were much smaller than before, yet the price remained the same. The garlic bread with cheese was soggy, cold, and overly seasoned with dried herbs, leaving a terrible taste. The cheese balls were also cold and the vegetables underneath were not fresh. Although we used to enjoy dining at Grilla for its fresh food, this new ownership is disappointing and I will not be ordering from here again. I recommend avoiding this place at all costs.

We got an Uber eats takeaway 3 drivers later our food arrived I’ve never been so disappointed with a take away it was awful the week before we had ordered from Jo’s in Walton which was superb, they couldn’t deliver so we chose grilla I got mixed souvlaki We also got a mixed grill for 1 And 2 other items Total bill £81.58 I’m sure you can trace my order from the amount The mixed souvlaki was like compressed mush on a stick, the chips were awful snd there was no fresh salad Cheese garlic bread not delivered paid and in the order Humous not delivered paid and on the order The mixed grilla for 1 was like a box of awful meats and most of it was left again no fresh salad No photos of the food as it looked awful I’ll never eat here again !! Awful

Food was lovely and service great, no complaints, grill for 2 was well more than enough so we’ve brought some home for sandwiches tomorrow!
