However, others enjoyed the ambiance and selection of drinks, with positive comments on the variety of food and excellent service. The location near Penny Lane added an extra touch of charm, making it a nostalgic spot for some customers. Overall, the establishment seemed to cater to a range of tastes and preferences, offering a blend of traditional English dishes and a welcoming atmosphere for patrons to enjoy a relaxing meal or drinks with friends or family.
A quiet place to drink with live music. Great variety of lagers and you can indeed sit out until a curfew! Not a bad place to mingle with mates. Happy Birthday Tez!
I had previously enjoyed the chicken dinner at this restaurant, it was the best roast I had ever eaten! The half chicken came with delicious skin. However, during our last visit, the chicken breast was unseasoned and had the texture of frozen chicken. It was so disappointing, especially considering the price. I probably won't return to this restaurant now.
I went to this restaurant for brunch on a Saturday around midday. At first, it seemed like we had missed the breakfast serving time since we only saw menus for food from 12 to 8pm. We asked at the bar and found out that breakfast was still being served, so we ordered three full English breakfasts. To our surprise, we were charged £45! We didn't question it at the time, but later found out that a breakfast is actually £15 per person. This seemed quite expensive, especially considering that the quality of the food was underwhelming. The sausages seemed to have been pre-cooked and reheated, the eggs were overdone, and the grilled tomato took up a large portion of the plate. On the positive side, the hash brown fingers and crispy bacon were delicious. However, the hard egg, reheated sausage, and underdone toast were disappointing. I have been to other fancy hotels in the city where a breakfast costing around £15 to £17 includes a wider variety of options like cereal and fruit. I would have been satisfied if the breakfast had been around £7 per person, but at £15, it felt like we were taken advantage of.
Justin was absolutely charming and incredibly welcoming. He was the standout member of the staff and made us feel at home by engaging with us whenever he visited our table. His exceptional service definitely warrants a promotion, as he is truly the best person for the job.
Food as expected for,pub food but the price of the wine is ridiculous for a pub. We’ve been to restaurants in town that don’t charge almost £25 for a bottle of house red won’t be visiting again anytime soon
