Perhaps this is a cultural difference, but I don't recall Vietnames... read more All of that would have been somewhat tolerable, but the service was ... well, quite subdued? Perhaps this is a cultural difference, but I don't recall Vietnamese restaurants in the Denver area being this way, even though many have changed over the past few years. The staff rarely interacted with one another and didn’t check in on customers to see if we needed more water or how our food was. It felt reminiscent of the service I encountered in my former Communist country, where attentive service was sometimes viewed as insincere or condescending. As John Lovitz used to say: "ACTING!" It really makes a difference when you're paying over $40 for a casual meal for two and still expected to leave a tip for basic food delivery to your table. I'm rounding up from 2.5 stars, as I believe Pho 9 has the potential to do much better.

Oh my gosh, the short ribs were delicious, wish there were more of that. I didn't like the Sliced carrots, it had way to much sugar in it. The source for the rice wasn't the best in my opinion, again tasted like sugar water. The Pad Thai was sooooo yummy. I could have that again. I'm looking forward to another visit.
