The food was very good! The ambience was great and the servers were really nice and helpful. Everyone in my party seemed to have enjoyed their food. The ambiance of the restaurant was delightful, the service was excellent, but unfortunately, the food fell short of expectations. The salmon was overcooked and had a stale frozen taste to it. The jasmine rice, although served in a generous portion, was overly drenched in vinegar, and the green beans were lacking moisture. Staff ignored me, I stood by them as one put moisturizer on , played with her hair. 3 of them made a point to ignore me.
We love the Tavern Restaurants. I know it was Mother's Day weekend, but it took quite a while to get our food out, and this isn't the first time we've experienced at this location. I ordered the lobster Benedict and was disappointed. The biscuits were dry, and there was sauce to help with that, and the lobsters portions was a half a small tail for each biscuit, home fries were good. We had an accident where iced tea was spilled and used all of our cloth napkins to clean it up. I approached the bar to alert them of the situation and the barback/bartender gave us 3 cloth towels and didn't send anyone to help. Which I find bizarre. We tried to ask the person delivering our food for more napkins but he cut us off and before we could finish our request and said “I'm sorry you'll have to ask your waitress” and briskly walked off. I probably could have ordered another adult beverage but only had one because there were long periods of time between seeing our waitress. I'll still frequent the Tavern restaurants but no longer this location. Still left a 20% tip bc I know it was busy and not everything was under her control.
My ahi tuna was good, but not what I expected when it was served with the tuna cold. My companion had been looking forward to the salmon dish on the menu, which had been replaced. He did seem to enjoy the new dish.
They were really busy with an hour long wait for a table but found a seat at the bar and was served food within 30 min. The black and blue burger was delicious, just wish it didn't fall apart so easy. Highly recommend the selection of ipa's they have on tap too. It's a great selection that you don't usually find in a chain restaurant.
Our server was so friendly and attentive and we had a great time. I'm a huge fan of the squash and farro salad, easily swapping grains for quinoa so it would be gluten free. Creative cocktail options round out a great meal experience!
