This is a beautiful pub restaurant with fantastic staff. I had an excellent Sunday lunch with my family, featuring turkey served with all the trimmings, delightful roasted potatoes, and vegetables, all generously smothered in delicious gravy. I definitely got as much as I wanted! Highly recommended! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Five Horseshoes:
Very average dinner. I’ve definitely had better fish at other pubs in the area. Small portions and dry. Service not fast and not the friendliest or welcoming. Burgers not bad. Deserts the highlight of the meal. Cosy atmosphere. Unfortunately not a pub I’d pick to go back to in a hurry. View all feedback.
James, our waiter, truly made this dining experience stand out. We got exactly what we were hoping for with a classic Pub Sunday Roast, and the way it was presented was exceptional in every detail. James was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, striking the perfect balance. We were so impressed that we ended up calling other family members to book them in later that day. Well done, James! He nearly convinced us to try the Chocolate Bomb pudding, and while we resisted this time, we’re definitely coming back to sample it based on his heartfelt recommendation. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Thank you to James and the entire team!
I had a wonderful dinner; both the service (provided by Louise) and the food were outstanding. The only challenge was deciding which of the delicious-sounding dishes to choose from. I look forward to returning!
I enjoy cooking at home and don't mind spending money when dining out, especially when the experience is fantastic—and it truly was! I had the steak ciabatta, and it was absolutely delicious! My wife and son were thrilled as well! The staff were friendly, cheerful, and very helpful. Thank you for accommodating us!
First time here. A nice little pub situated in the countryside. When seated was told its a cashless pub, not mentioned on their website. Some of the staff looked unhappy and put a Damper on my dinning experience. Notice when sat another party came in after and was offered drinks before us. Food was average. My steak was supposed to be a 8oz but didn't look like it. My partner ordered a roast dinner but the veg was cold and Yorkshire pudding was burnt. The place inside could do with more lighting . Staff need to inform guest of the low ceiling beems.
The staff was very nice and welcoming. I liked the main, sirloin steak medium rare. However, it was a bit chewy. And I wasn't a fan of the peppercorn sauce with sauteed mushrooms that came with the steak. I also tried the fried squid and wasn't a fan, it was quite tasteless. I'd give the food overall a 6.5/10 The service was 10/10 and would try something else next time.
