My husband googled best cafe's near our hotel. We arrived at our hotel Tivoli Oriente first thing in the morning and wanted to get breakfast. Choupana Caffè is just past the Train Station. The food is so tasty delicious service is great. We went there most mornings for our breakfast and luckily a 1 minute walk from our hotel. Carolina who is one of the members of staff greeted us every morning with a smile helped us with the menu. She is a credit asset to Choupana Caffe. Friendly, helpful always has a smile. Thank you Carolina for making our start of the day a great one.
If you want a very profusional breakfast and fill full quickly : go there and order the breakfast for two. Everything we tried was good especially the velvet croissant and the orange juice. But there was too much food for two so the waiters offered us to take the rest into doggy bags. The place is nice but not that intimiste, the queue to sit there was quite long and the service is a little bit impersonal. Over all it’s a good place to brunch and taste different kind of pastries. In terms of size and quantity it’s really particularly huge so you will not go out of there hungry.
We are not from Portugal, so when we are speaking to them in English some of the staff look at us very weird and not in a nice way at all. Especially one brunette girl that she is working there. On the other hand, a brunette guy from the staff, was very friendly. The food is nice and it has a nice quality. Regarding the coffee, i would recommend you to take coffe without foam, because they can't make it very good.
A very pleasant spot located near Campo Pequeno, offering a wide variety of pastries and also some bakery items. The service was quick and efficient, with our order arriving at the table in no time. We recommend having breakfast here, especially on a Sunday when it tends to be less crowded just like we did.
