If you visit Lisbon and don’t visit Trivial, it would be a huge mistake. My family and I arrived in Lisbon for a quick visit, and on our last night, we reserved a table at Trivial after reading many of the positive reviews. We were instantly greeted by a friendly staff member (Ana and over the course of our meal, got the pleasure of meeting the chef owners (Chef Jose and Christina . From accommodations to our food allergies, to recommendations and wine pairings, the friendly service and impossibly delicious food, everything about our visit was more than we could’ve imagined from a place we happened to stumble across upon our Google search. I would recommend Trivial to anyone I knew who was visiting Lisbon and seriously how you get to experience the flavours of this authentic Portuguese restaurant! We had: -the olives, bread and goat cheese on the table (seriously, the best olives I’ve ever had and I’m Italian , the octopus dish, the chicken dish, the 4 pepper steak and the sea bass-paired with either white or red wine depending-both of which made for the perfect combinations. For dessert, we had the chocolate mouse, lemon gelato with vodka and crème brûlée, alongside port wine. Would absolutely recommend any of these dishes. Enjoy and best wishes Christina, Jose and Ana! Claro!
A restaurant to avoid at all costs! Rude and arrogant service, as noted in many previous reviews. Our reservation was not taken, despite several confirmations on our part. Rude and dishonest owner. There are so many high-quality restaurants with impeccable service in the area that we recommend avoiding this barricaded establishment and exploring the neighborhood instead! I truly love this restaurant. It is so quaint. They set up our table with a couvert (yes, I know they charge for it) but I haven't seen a restaurant do something like this with such care. I had the risotto which was creamy and delicious. My husband had the duck which he quiet enjoyed. The staff were charming and accommodating. I hope to go back someday.
It's like having dinner at your Portuguese grandma's house. Super friendly service and really tasty food! Highly recommended.
This is the fifth time we’ve been to this restaurant and it’s always fantastic. Christina and her weight staff are constantly attentive. The food is consistently good. I absolutely love the chicken with plums, and the steak Trivial. The house wine is excellent and extremely reasonable. They also have delicious appetizers and unique tasty desserts. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you want delicious traditional Portuguese food in a very nice, quiet, relaxed, setting with excellent service. They are also a great supporter of the LGBTQ community.
