This is very small, authentic food place with great local atmosphere inside, amazingly tasty food and local home made Sangria. Price is affordable, staff is helpful and the place is overall good to have lunch/dinner. Totally recommend!!! Totalmente recomendable!!!

This was our fourth time enjoying lunch or dinner at Tinoco, and every visit reminds us why it’s a must-stop place whenever we’re in Lisboa. Tinoco has a welcoming, family-oriented vibe that makes you feel at home the moment you walk in. The food is consistently outstanding – rich in flavor, beautifully prepared, and clearly made with care. The quality is top-notch, yet the prices are extremely reasonable, which makes it an exceptional value. What really sets Tinoco apart is its strong sense of community and warmth. You can tell it’s a local favorite, and the staff treat you like part of the family. Whether it’s your first time or your fourth (like us! , you’ll leave already planning your next visit. Highly recommend! Price per person: €5–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

It may not look like much, but if you’re in the mood for a lot of food at a fraction of the price asked elsewhere nearby, this spot in Cais do Sodré won’t disappoint. The menu offers traditional Portuguese fare at very friendly prices, and for this reason, it’s popular with the locals. Join nearby construction workers, restaurant owners, policemen, and off-duty street cleaners for lunch at this tiny hole-in-the-wall. You won’t hear any language spoken other than Portuguese, which is in itself the best way to judge a place. The specials of the day are cooked to perfection, the sangria is made with care, and the servers, though old, are quite quick and always professional. Worth a stop for lunch at the least.

Since the first visit for lunch this restaurant has been consistent on the food quality as well as the quantities. Price wise it's within the area and the staff is very helpful for any questions.

Dropped in here for lunch after a heavy morning of sightseeing. Plenty of locals as well as tourists using this small restaurant which is usually a good sign. We made the mistake of thinking that the low prices indicated smaller portion sizes.... not so! With the benefit of hindsight the Turkey Skewer (a hanging kebab with rice and chips) would have been enough to share but I also ordered the Sea Bream (with salad rather than chips and rice) so we were defeated by quantity. Quality was also excellent. A reasonable local red wine at 2.30 euros for a half litre went down well. Appetisers (not complimentary) of delicious cheese, local bread and sausage croquettes were presented after we had ordered. The charge of around 5 euros was not excessive so not an issue, just be aware and it is OK to decline. Definitely recommend

A nice restaurant with tradicional portuguese dishes. We ate codfish, octopuss and janquinzinhos . All of the dishes were delicious and cheap. Congrats.

We found this wandering around the neighbourhood thinking it was time for lunch. Don’t be fooled by the unassuming handwritten menu in the window. Go in. It was near packed (we got the last table) with locals (ours was the only non Portuguese I heard) which is always a good sign. Simple tables and menus. Nice house white (1/2l) and a great tuna steak and grilled octopus. I had the octopus. I recommend the octopus. Simply served with garlic and olive oil plus new pots and veg. Delicioso.
