This is a wonderful neighborhood tavern that hosts locals and tourists alike. We, tourists, were joined by local workers stopping in for lunch. They don't speak much English but have a menu in English and are very friendly. It's a family operation and they appreciate your business in this small and cozy place. I enjoyed the whole grilled octopus with potatoes and greens. It was tender and flavorful. The cost was very reasonable at around 20 euros and could have been shared between 2 people. My partner had there savory fresh grilled sardines with a simple salad. Enjoy and be a good tourist always.
The only decent thing was food. Even though my meal’s potatoes was also badly burned. Staff make it feel like we were a burden to them by acting very rude. Like others, we were not informed before lunch that we aren’t able to pay with card and we had to go searching for an ATM. Please take a note and step to the 21th century. Worst part anyway was the toilet. It was super dark and it was hard to see anything, but unluckily I noted two huge cocroaches walking in the toilet. Hopefully those were the only ones in the restaurant. Definitely underachievement.
The food was a 5 star. They waitress did not speak English but another waitress came and reccomended some awesome dishes! I had prawns in garlic oil and mussels in an olive oil and onions. We are definitely going back this week. REMEMBER they close at 4
A relação preço/qualidade é incrível. Ótimo para quem gosta de grelhados e comida típica portuguesa. Staff muito simpático e sempre que estou por perto vou lá.
