On a suggestion by the wonderfully talented creators at Story Tailors we went to the Popular do Capelo restaurant. They were actually closing but Carlos was gracious enough to let us in for an early dinner. It was suggested by the Story Tailors to order the pork Lagartinhos and we were more than impressed. We started with two types of cheese and enjoyed a very nice dry white wine. Photos below. We have eaten very well in Portugal but this was amazing. We highly recommend this restaurant and hope every one gets to have such a great meal in Portugal.

Restaurante Popular Do Capelo is a local, unpretentious, sure thing close to Chiado Square. It is, in fact, popular and busy, but not rushed filled with happy patrons. In a sea of wall to wall diners, we were the only tourists until a French threesome was seated nearby. Food was simple, fresh, well prepared and outstanding value. Great simple neighborhood place!
