This neighbourhood pastelaria is located opposite the church in Benfica a perfect spot for people watching. Great place for breakfast good pastries) or an afternoon glass of wine. They also do set lunches, and savoury snacks rissoles, pasties etc). A large outdoor seating area. Seems to be particularly popular with older locals. Service can be quite slow. Very reasonable prices. View all feedback.

I review a lot of small cafés as I am always searching for good tostas mistas and I am fussy. This cafe is large and well located with table service and your order is recorded on a magnetic card, read at the till when you leave and you put your notes and coins in a slot in a machine which dispenses change. I wasn't offered a receipt. Very popular with local mainly senior population, and plenty of efficient waiters. I scored low because I asked for an abatanado cheio (Americano full up) and a tosta mista with tomatoes in Pão caseira but what arrived was half full coffee cup and some soggy pappy bread wrapped round some plastic, melted tasteless cheese, ham and cooked tomato slices which could not be picked up and needed a knife and fork to eat. I couldn't finish it. Not a good breakfast, but a nice place.

Just what I needed!! Amazing pastry with great coffee around the corner from my friend's place, in front of a lovely plaza and around the corner from an amazing place for lunch and a Tile Class!!
