The place deserves NO stars at all. NO ONE speaks or understands English, after 15 min of going back and force with order and they screwed it up COMPLETELY. Not only the order but the bill too- after giving us one price for food , at the end it was completely different, and of course twice more expensive. We showed her the menu with prices , but she( owner or manager was saying that it was different menu, that we were not supposed to use!???? Gets better from here. Bill comes, and apperantly they don't take international cards, being in the heart of Lisbon tourist district. Either Portuguese cars or cash...... NOTHING but aggravation and completely ruined evening. Please avoid this place at all cost.

We saw many restaurants serving sushi buffets in Portugal decided to try one in Lisbon to see what the standard was like. Kiku was open early in the evening, at 6pm, it's an a la carte buffet with a selection of sushi and other random Chinese Japanese dishes like prawns, teriyaki, desserts, etc. You just note down the items you want, as well as the portions and let the staff know. Dinner buffet was 16.90€ with drinks at an extra charge. When the sushi sashimi arrived, they were miniscule esp the pieces of sashimi we could barely see it on the plate, it was a joke! Sushi was average. Rice wasn't bad but seaweed was soggy. The sushi did largely hold their shape so that was a positive. The fried California roll was a tad odd esp the cooked tuna rather than raw tuna which you usually get. From the hot food selection, we ordered beef, squid, tempura prawns, breaded prawns other stuff. The texture of the tempura batter was all wrong the breaded prawns tasted hard, as if they had been frozen. The so called gyoza were frozen dumplings which didn't look like gyoza. Fried wantan looked like just fried pastry skin thrown on a plate! The fried tofu were actually tasty! And they looked like croquettes. The beef prawns dishes were tasty too, like Chinese stir fries. Service was a bit slow with the hot food at times there was a bit of a wait. They also didn't always serve you what you wanted for e.g. we ordered another portion of salmon skewers which didn't appear and though we ordered 2 portions of fruit, the miserable mini slices we got could only be construed as 1 portion. Surely! We suppose the mini portions are partly to deal with food waste but some of it looked so hilarious esp the sashimi even kids would have food in larger bites! If you're looking for an authentic sushi joint, this isn't it. I think Japanese visiting the joint would despair. But if you want to have your fill at a buffet and don't mind ordering something multiple times till you get it, then go for it! Might be a good idea to take a picture of the order lists each time so you can ask staff if items are missing.
