As my girlfriend was ordering i stayed right in front of the window to watch my rental car that had a France license plate, 3 different driver went from sitting on their bikes watching their photo to casually walking to the front of the restaurent and looking inside, i may be paranoid but its common in Portugal sadly. Just be careful and dont leave money or passport in the cars especially if you have a license plate from another country and keep visual on you car if possible.
