The menu was in Po... read more This spot was in walking distance from the airport during an unexpectedly long layover. We walked by a park and some nice houses to get here. The menu was in Portuguese with some English translation. The food was delicious and fast. 22€ for 2 drinks, an entree, and a salad. The waiter did not speak English, but was still nice and welcoming. We enjoyed the experience and food! Highly recommend for anyone looking for local cuisine near the airport

They didn’t have it but nonetheless they brought outside a table from inside only so that we could have dinner. We ordered some traditional seafood dishes, which, even though I’m still eating them as I’m writing this review, I can’t recall the name. Ordering was kinda messy, since the waiters couldn’t speak English, and we tried to order with a mix of Italian, English and Spanish (failing miserably). Anyway, the seafood is super fresh (razor clams are so fresh that maaaaaybe there’s a little bit too much sand in them), the portions are very big (to the point that the lady who cooks everything came out to ask “are you sure you want all of this?” and asked us to follow her so she could show us how big the portions were), and very authentic. Everything watered down with some vino blanco which is also super good. We’re still eating, we’re wondering if we ever gonna leave this place, the food is just too much and too good. Must go, I’m not an expert in Portuguese food but this is just so good that it’s worth a visit anyway. Don’t order too much though, or you could get stuck here forever like us.

It... read more We decided to get away from the airport and from the tourist spots and find a restaurant in a local area. Our first choice was closed, so we went to Carla's. It was very interesting, and very inexpensive, to say the least. We had a full meal, with pork, potatoes, a salad, bread, and a pitcher of red wine for under 30 euros. It was a little challenging order, and they did not have any menus in English, and the waiter could not speak English. Still, it was fun to try something off of the main stream.
