One of the better options on Level 7 of El Corte Ingles (have tried a few other restaurants there, so speak from experience). Was easy enough to get a table on a Saturday evening without booking ahead, and the server approached immediately when she saw me standing undecided at the entrance so that sealed the deal to dine at Barra Cascabel. Went with the server 's recommendation on the cocktail however, it 's interesting how they always steer you to the most expensive options on the menu! Mezcalna was very good, but certainly not worth the price for the small size drink. The ham and cheese quesadilla was a great choice with little bursts of spice surprising my taste buds every so often. The popcorn chicken was melt in the mouth, but could have been so much more with much less salt! Overall, a decent casual Mexican offering in the Gourmet Experience level of El Corte Ingles Lisboa. But wouldn 't go out of my way to eat there, unless already in the building.
Very disappointing whilst staff are friendly and attentive the food is terrible. Portions are small and meals are drenched in tasteless sauces. Avoid.
Food was OK though nothing special and highly overpriced, as were the drinks (9€ for a Marguerita). Portions are small, they definitely make good use of the 'Gourmet ' label. All would be forgiven, though, if it weren 't for the loud music and when I mean loud, I mean rock concert loud. I asked one of the waiters if they could turn it down but I got a 'It 's part of our concept ' kind of answer. Good for them. Not coming back and would strongly advise against going there.
