Even though the staff is fluent... read more Conveniently located in Baixa in one of the busiest touristic areas of town, Aldea is prepared to cater for the tourists alike. Even though the staff is fluent in English, the menu has photos of all the dishes, which makes ordering way easier. And unlike other places, what you see on the photos is really what you get. We tried the grilled fish, which was very fresh and grilled just right! Even though we arrived exactly at 23hrs, when the kitchen closes, the staff was very happy to serve us and very accommodating.

Because I don’t like being scammed, and I can 't recommend a restaurant that does this. You shouldn’t add a tax that doesn’t even appear on the receipt—it’s just a hidden tip. We even left an extra tip, only realizing afterward that this so-called tax wasn’t listed anywhere even online. Mistakes can happen, but deliberately hiding a tip under a fake tax is dishonest. That said, the waiters were nice and the food was great. To the owner: I won’t delete this review unless the full tip+tax is refunded (14€ . If this review is still up, it means the issue has not been resolved. I have the ATCUD if needed. Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
