However when the long list of specials and exceptions... read more The omens were good a fabulous location and when we entered a simple and beautifully decorated restaurant. However when the long list of specials and exceptions started to be read, together with the ubiquitous lobster, never with a hint of anything so vulgar as price, my restaurant BS detector started to flicker. At this, point we should of course have ‘made our excuses and left.’ We didn’t and whilst the service was courteous, the wine was good and the chef had made an effort with the presentation, the food was virtually inedible. Once again, the Michelin inspector, the guides logo is prominently displayed, seems to have been seduced by looks, language and complexity and forgotten his taste buds.
