We were trying to find somewhere with a good scope of options on the menu as we had one person in our group who wanted meat (most places around here seem to concentrate on fish which is understandable and one who has a gluten intolerance. It was fairly late for us to be eating, so we were all really hungry. It took absolutely AGES to get served, to the point that if it had been earlier I would have just got up, paid for what we had rec'd and moved on to another restaurant, despite us having started our drinks. My seafood spagetti was pretty tasteless when it finally arrived, hardly any seafood and what there was, was overcooked and not plump and fresh as expected, but more looked like it was of the frozen variety. My husband said his steak was fantastic, and my son said his food was just ok. However , my daughters gluten free pizza was nothing short of awful. The base was so soggy I was not convinced that someone had not soaked it in water a bit to try to get it off the tray, and it was a tasteless gloop. I tried a bit and again, would have got a replacement sorted, if you could actually get a waiter to pay attention to you. They were not full, only about half the tables were occupied, and there was several staff, but they seemed to be bustling about doing not a lot. And they had different staff for different things, so you couldn't build up a rappor with anyone. When we did finally manage to get someone to come and give us our bill (and trust me appx 20m trying to get someones attention, but it was always someone elses job to do that bit apparently! it was commented that there was so much food left, and I said about it being poor. Whilst we waited for our bill (took another 15 minutes for it to finally arrive by this time we were ready to drop as it was well past our time to head home we were given a free glass of the local wine whilst we waited. A nice gesture, but given the choice of restaurants in the area, I really wish we had opted to go elsewhere. In total for ONE course, we were there well over 1hr 15m, talk about dragging out a painfull experience
Excellent food, great tiramisu, great service, highly enjoyed Home made Italian resultant Family style ; The pizza was perfect
Had a quick lunch here after arriving in Lipari. Totano ripieno and pesce spada, both grilled and both very good. We had a good caponata as side dish, which to my taste was just a little on the sweet side. Attentive service and overall a very positive experience.
We're in Lipari for a weekend, and the manager of our property recommended this place for its traditional, home-style cuisine. We booked directly on-site with no problem. The welcome was excellent, the place was authentic and unpretentious. The attentive and friendly staff were very helpful with our choices and knew their dishes very well. The menu was compact and easy to choose from, and the dishes were truly exceptional, using the freshest ingredients and the highest level of preparation. Pay attention to the truly delicious desserts (try the tiramisu). Excellent location, very close to the port.
A seafood restaurant that was recommended to us, but I wouldn't recommend it. The service was a bit slow and confusing, but above all, the dishes we didn't enjoy and the portions definitely weren't in line with Sicilian eating habits. In particular, we didn't like the mussels at all; they were small, dry, and tasted so-so. The fried squid was average. The pizza was neither good nor bad. The prices were a bit high for the quantity and quality. Ultimately, I'd consider it a tourist restaurant, but luckily, you can eat much, much better in Sicily.
