Cabalen - Lipa
Cabalen
Description
This Filipino buffet serves hot, home-style classics—kare-kare, humba, grilled fish and Filipino desserts—offering strong value with frequent refills and a 2-hour unlimited format. It’s family-friendly (young children free) and bustling, with branch quality varying (Manila praised). Expect friendly but inconsistent service: drink delivery can be quick, yet orders and staffing mix-ups sometimes slow things down. Be prepared for crowds, a limited rotating menu, and beverages beyond water costing extra. Great for casual group meals if you can tolerate occasional service hiccups.

Meal Type: Lunch Price per Person: ₱200–₱400 Food Rating: 4/5 Service Rating: 3/5 Atmosphere Rating: 4/5 I recently had the chance to dine at this restaurant for lunch, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The food was delicious and earned a solid rating of 4 out of 5. Each dish was flavorful and well-prepared, making it a highlight of the meal. The service, however, was somewhat lacking. I would rate it a 3 out of 5, as the staff could have been a bit more attentive and efficient. On the other hand, the atmosphere was quite enjoyable, with a cozy and inviting setting that deserves a 4 out of 5. It created a nice environment for a midday meal. In conclusion, while the service could use some improvement, the food and atmosphere make it worth a visit.
The atmosphere remains unchanged from a decade ago, but the food is still fantastic. Service: Dine-in Meal Type: Lunch Price per Person: ₱400–600 Food: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 3/5
