The hash browns were enjoyable as well, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. **Service:** Unfortunately, the service was disappointing and only deserves 2 stars. I specifically asked if they had Coke Zero and was told they did. However, the self-serve machine dispensed a drink that was mostly carbonated water due to a lack of syrup, resulting in little flavor. When I mentioned this to a nearby staff member, her response was dismissive: “Yeah, I know, I should put a sign on it.” She didn’t offer to fix the problem or suggest an alternative drink. It would have been helpful if she had offered to get me a Coke Zero from the drive-thru. **Atmosphere:** The atmosphere also rated poorly at 2 stars. The restroom was in dire need of attention. Both paper towel dispensers were empty, and a nearly used roll was just sitting on top, showing a lack of maintenance. If someone can bring a roll of paper towels into the restroom, they can certainly put it in the dispenser—that seemed quite lazy. The restroom's cleanliness was questionable, and the placement of the urinals, positioned closely in the corner on separate walls, was uncomfortable and awkward. I chose to wait for a stall instead. For travelers on I-64, a clean restroom is crucial, and the condition of this one made me question the cleanliness of the food prep area. **Summary:** Hardee's has potential but needs to address some serious issues. Regularly clean and stock your restrooms, ensure your soda fountains are properly filled, and communicate issues effectively to your customers. You can do better.
