He went to find another employee, who then took my phone to look up the order number. They both eventually went to the general manager with my phone. The manager was able to verify the order number and returned to check my order again before handing us our food. Throughout this entire ordeal, the manager didn't offer any apologies or acknowledgment of the mix-up, which was clearly a problem on their end. This experience left me quite dissatisfied, and I have no plans to return to this specific Chick-fil-A in the future.
