What Conor S doesn't like about Guzzardos Italian Villa:
The food is mediocre at best, and the restaurant itself feels outdated and could be cleaner. However, the staff is friendly and provides great service. I wouldn't make a special trip just to dine here. View all feedback.
This is hands down the best Italian restaurant I've ever visited. The food was incredibly fresh and had that homemade feel, like being invited to Grandma's for Sunday dinner! The spaghetti was absolutely delicious. I ordered the villa dish, which was fantastic, and our son had a pizza that was equally impressive. The fried ravioli with marinara was simply heavenly! Our waitress was exceptional as well. Everything about this place was wonderful. I've been traveling for work, and so far, this has been the best dining experience I've had in Illinois, even surpassing the well-known Italian restaurant we tried in Chicago. It truly is a hidden gem!
This restaurant has been a local tradition since 1957, spanning three generations of family ownership. They serve large portions of homemade Italian cuisine that is hot, expertly prepared, and perfectly seasoned. The rustic yet clean and cozy atmosphere truly enhances the comfort food experience. As a nice extra, they offer outdoor seating during the pleasant seasons. The staff is attentive and well-trained, with the owners actively present in the dining area, managing everything with pride. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner and appreciated both the staff and the ambiance. I highly recommend Guzzardos for a relaxing, home-style meal. Kudos to the employees and owners of Cuzzardos Italian Villa—well done!
I had a wonderful experience at Guzzardo. We celebrated my sister's birthday with a group of about ten, and the service was excellent. Our waitress was friendly, and our salads, soups, and appetizers arrived quickly. The food was absolutely delicious. Although the restaurant doesn’t serve alcohol, you can bring your own, so I brought some wine to enjoy with my meal. I had the French onion soup and the special Friday night dish, which was the prime rib—it was served on the bone and incredibly juicy. My fiancée ordered the chicken parmesan and loved it. To my surprise, my picky daughter devoured quite a bit of the schnitzels, and I really enjoyed the spicy French dressing that came with it. The only downside was that we had to wait about an hour or more for our food. However, they were quite busy, so I understand the delay. Overall, a great experience!

Food and service were both great. Wife and I shared the ravioli appetizer and large prime rib special. So much food we had enough to feed us both again later that night.
