The Adam and Eve is the oldest pub in Lincoln. It is a proper pub with cask ale and English fare, and has been in operation for centuries. It is not frequented by the tourist crowd that populates Steep Hill, so there is a lot of local flavor. I was rather unhappy with the pint I received though, because it was sour from either dirty taps or a contaminated cask. View all feedback.
What kensmoon doesn't like about Adam And Eve Pub:
A traditional pub with a sizeable stone fireplace and a lovely coal and log fire which we enjoyed when we had our drinks, although seasoned logs would burn better. The beer garden looked like it would be a great spot in the summer months. Little in the way of vegan options apart from the falafel burger without the bun. View all feedback.
Great ! a nice pub near the cathedral that welcomes walkers with a dog . Nice food simple and really tasty , with very friendly staff .... Great
Lovely drinks around the pool table on bank holiday Monday. First time in this pub and really enjoyed it. Didn’t have any food so cannot comment on that
Staff were super friendly and helpful. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Lots of GF choices, couldn’t tell the batter was GF on the fish. Dog friendly, provided with a bowl and some treats.
Arranged a private party in the front bar recently to celebrate with friends and family after our dad's funeral. Nic could not have been nicer to deal with, particularly as this was all arranged from overseas with some local assistance from a friend. The buffet menu is varied and offers a number of good looking options. We chose the top level option and were not disappointed. Great food and plenty of it. The price point is also VERY reasonable, particularly given the quality of the food. Nic was very attentive on the day, clearing frequently and condensing the platters as they emptied. The hand pulled beers also offer variety and are well kept. The pub itself, known to us over some years (AND the venue of our wedding reception some 25 years ago! is very well presented, lovely olde-worlde feel and after the wake, now has a few new converts who said they will go again...and again. Nic (and team were great, the place very convivial and simply put, an old-fashioned (great pub in a disappearing world of refurbished bars and student-focused pubs in and around the Bailgate. This pub is a must for any lover of traditional hostelries and the buffet food as good as we have had anywhere. PLEASE go visit and give them your patronage, they deserve it!
Great staff who really contribute to the welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The ale is always spot on and the food is of high quality and ample portions. Would highly recommend a visit to this hidden gem of Lincoln !
