Have to say we were gobsmacked. €16.95 for 2 sausages on top of a bit of mash and smothered in onions something you'd see on z children's menu elsewhere for maybe €8 or so. My husband...ordered the steak burger which was also €16.95 it was a mess with cheap bacon full of fat and an ordinary burger and there was also a taste off it. I had a chicken ceasor wrap which was just chicken and lettuce it was ok and probably the better of the three dishes the chips at the top of the basket were ok but hard underneath. Will not be returning here would have got a better meal at McDonald's.

The service was terrible. One crew of bartenders took our orders and then went home for the day....A half hour later, we had to badger the new crew into taking our orders again and then wait to be served while they filled orders from other customers.

It took 25 minutes and two trips to the bar to get the staff to come over to my table to take my food order. I then waited 50 minutes and still no food. At this... read more It took 25 minutes and two trips to the bar to get the staff to come over to my table to take my food order. I then waited 50 minutes and still no food. At this point I asked at the bar and was told...it would be another 5 minutes. This did not seem genuine so I cancelled my order. All I managed to get in the Strand in the course of an hour and fifteen minutes was a coke. Awful.

Looked forward to a return visit to this fine hotel for lunch. We were disappointed on this occasion. While the service was very pleasant, as usual, it was quit... read more Looked forward to a return visit to this fine hotel for lunch. We were disappointed on this occasion. While the service was very pleasant, as usual, it was quite slow despite the restaurant being quiet. The vegetarian amongst us was happy with a fine veggie...burger and great spicey chips. We who chose the fish, however, were disappointed with the size of helpings and found the baby potatoes a bit underdone. We love this hotel and just hope it was one of those glitches on Bank Holiday Monday!
