Reviews summary
Peat’s Steakhouse offers a unique dining experience where patrons cook their own steaks on a grill in the center of the rustic restaurant. While some guests rave about the delicious, perfectly cooked meat and the vibrant atmosphere, others report significant service issues, including rude staff and long waits for food. Reservations are often required, leading to frustration for those who arrive unprepared. Despite mixed reviews, the standout dishes, particularly the burgers and pizzas, earn high praise. With its charming, authentic Montana vibe, Peat's remains a polarizing yet intriguing destination for steak aficionados and adventurous diners alike.

What Stephanie B dislikes about Peat:
GET THE F OUT OF MY WAY! Shay, the owner, screamed on a busy Saturday night. Embarrassing every patron sitting at the hot bar, next to an inconveniently placed grill in the middle of the floor. She turns to the bartender Trevor, what 's good on tap? He looks at her incredulously and snears, I don 't care what you like and...I 'm not recommending anything.. The End. View all feedback.

We loved this place not only because its referred to us by our bestfriend in the world Brent from spencer, idaho but there is a unique twist here : the steak is perfect everytime because you cook your own steak on the GRILL in the middle of the restaurant!! The best I'm telling ya what a Gem! thanks
Waited and hour still no food and the manager, shayla the managers was rude as can be very discussed with the service walked out their lucky we even paid the bill
Little pricey but a thick steak with bake potato, salad and a piece of bread I guess is not so bad. Oh and did not see the lady that works in there screaming a anybody. I would say good service also. Heck you can even cook your own steak!
This place was a very pleasant surprise. Took my wife on a surprise trip and brought her here. We had a blast cooking our own steaks the way we liked and then playing a couple quick rounds of pool afterwards. The service was friendly and they seemed glad to have us rather than looking at us like outsiders which we half-expected. It looks like the owners or employees there are quite young and hip. We noticed they put on indie-rock when they saw us wander in, but then quickly switched it to country once they saw a group of older ladies enter. Would love to come back if we’re in the area again!

A real Montana bar. Fast, friendly service; excellent steaks and burgers. Good beer selection. Friendly local folks in a western atmosphere. Highly recommend The Peat.
What a hidden gem! Enjoyed watching the chef cook our steak perfectly. Great service and atmosphere.
After cooling down with a refreshing Blue Moon, we ordered a ribeye and an additional plate, which includes a salad, potato, and toast for just $7—a great deal! I had initially planned to just take a few bites of my partner's ribeye, but once I tasted it, I couldn’t help but go back for more! Honestly, it was one of the best quality and most flavorful steaks I’ve had in a long time. The salad dressings are homemade, and I particularly enjoyed the honey mustard. This place is truly worth the trip!
What a gem! After a grueling 50-mile bike ride on the hot, dusty roads leading into Lima, we found ourselves without a place to stay and were resigned to another night of camping. In a last-ditch effort, we called The Peat, and we were thrilled to secure a room. The accommodations were exactly what we needed—clean beds and a spotless shower. The bar and restaurant were outstanding too! Without a doubt, it's the best steak we've ever had. Blaine was an incredibly attentive host and a fantastic cook! The atmosphere was both inviting and energizing. This place will definitely be a top choice if we ever pass through Lima again. Thank you, The Peat!
