We accidentally come across this restaurant while walking past and decided to give it a try. The chef was most helpful and helped us choose a dish (as we did not understand the menu as it wasn 't in English). The food was lovely. He presented us with a starter which was on the house/free of charge . The decor of the restaurant is done in an African theme and the whole ambiance is lovely. It really felt like an Africa... The smoked version of the chicken mafé (polet with peanut sauce) at sweet africa is by far the best I had, and the lamb pins of my friend were no less delicious. We both added the hot homemade sauce provided by our elegant and friendly server, but those who avoid too many spices will find something to enjoy without. We shared the accras (little doughnuts), which made a nice entrance, and the succulent coconut cake, which shares its name with the restaurant. Sweet afric, I'll be back.
Recommend it to everyone for a party with friends, family or colleagues..Good music.Good food..Good cocktail.
We fell by chance on this restaurant passing in front of it and decided to try it. the chef was very helpful and helped us choose a dish (for we did not understand the menu because it was not in English.) the food was delicious. He presented us an entrance that was "on the house/free." the decor of the restaurant is made in an African theme and the whole atmosphere is charming. It was really like an "African experience." prices are very reasonable. we highly recommend this restaurant and we will certainly return for another meal when we return to the bucket.
While visiting my son who is a student at Univ of Lille 3, the 2 of us decided to break the endless glutinous cycle of eating cuisine française and get something totally different. Not only was this totally different, but it was the best meal of my 2 week Paris-Lille visit. The Mafe' Poulet is one of the best chicken dishes I have ever eaten.
Well i said on the 6th of Jan i would come back n so i did with my Freinds who were visiting from Myanmar... the absolutely loved the food and flavors... i has the same food as last time and the quality was the same.
