Excellent qualities because traditional home cooking. cheap (from 12 to 23rd), welcome in a very pleasant and discreet setting. Go and see your eyes closed and salivated. View all feedback.
This is a fairly basic restaurant inside, but the food is wonderful, the man serving us was very nice, and friendly. Had a very good time there. Would definitely go back.
We have just had dinner at this superb restaurant close to our hotel. We were warmly welcomed by the owner whose attentiveness and consideration made us feel very much at home. The four of us each ordered a different couscous, chicken, lamb cutlets, braised lamb and 'royal', and both quality and quantity were exceptional. The semoule and vegetable bouillon were served in copper pots in the centre of the table with the meat separately on individual trays. Harissa paste and succulent dried raisins came as an accompaniment, as had chickpeas in vinaigrette sauce and peanuts alongside our aperitifs. The flavours and textures of the meat, vegetables and sauce were exquisite, and ideally complemented by a Sidi Brahim Merlot/Cabernet Sauvignon. For dessert we ordered vanilla ice cream, profiteroles, a Dame Blanche and a selection of sorbets. The bill came to just over €120 which, for the quality of good and service, was tremendous value. We recommend highly Le Mazafran, and will certainly return here the next time we visit Lille.
We were in Lille for the weekend and were looking for an oriental restaurant. Via Tripadvisor I found Le Mazafran, a small, cozy Moroccan restaurant near the hotel where we stayed. The host was really friendly and made us feel very welcome. The food was very good. We first had a soup followed by great couscous, several sorts of meat and vegetables cooked and served in a delicious "bouillon" ... We had a really great meal and I certainly would recommend Le Mazafran to anyone visiting Lille.

Excellent restaurant, the best couscous. Frankly, go to the eyes closed. The service is wonderful, true pro, an excellent chef, all my congratulations. On the other hand, I would never go to the establishment of Lys lez Lannoy again. I give five stars, but it deserves 10! On the other hand, lys lez Lannoy is to avoid...
