Le Court Debout - Lille

Interesting restaurant , went there for a lunch menu. Hope your French is excellent because the waiters speaks a triple the normal speed. The food is good, the quality of the ingredients is excellent. The suggested wine was very good. Great for a lunch visit.

Next to my favourite bar is a delightful restaurant which delivers french food of the highest quality. I had the squid starter followed by lamb. Awesome is the only way to describe it. Your well advised to book as it is always busy.

In three of the eight Lille restaurants that I have tried in the past three weeks, I have tried their lamb chops. Two were terrible (Grill St Anne and Pot Beaujolais) but at Court Debout they were absolute perfection. As was the entire mealCD seems to be operating a clever restaurant model. With only about 30 covers per service, it is difficult (you need min of 70). But their version is to have only 6 dishes on the menu, which you can pick as a 3-course for 35 euro or as a 5-course degustation for 60 euroEach dish is totally fine-tuned to perfectionThe service is smart and 100% efficient : there is a good wine list, and the ambiance is calm in an art deco setting Probably the best meal I have had so far (and good value) but there are 6 more before I leave!

Great concept : choice out of 2 starters, 2 main, 2 deserts. Excellent cuisine, great service and topwine list. Finally : menu only at 35 EUR !!! This is a must visit.

We booked a table for 2 and received an acknowledgement by email. When we arrived, the place was closed. The restaurant had our contact details and we heard nothing. It was a special birthday meal that we had looked forward to, but finding the place closed without any message (either by email or note on the door) was, frankly, rude.
