Absolutely fantastic restaurant! I had the crab cake and the snapper, and while the crab cakes were nearly $40, I'm not sure about the price of the snapper. Regardless, it was incredibly delicious. The atmosphere is rich with history, which is both excellent and intriguing. Our waitress did a great job of sharing the story behind the place and gave us a wonderful tour. The boat driver was also very friendly. Although... View all feedback.
What Kevin B doesn't like about Caps Place Island:
Remember that story about cats in a seafood restaurant? Let's get right to the point. We arrived 20 minutes early for our 8:30 reservation and were told to wait. No problem. We can wait... View all feedback.
We showed up at the opening and we? very well treated by Robert who took care of us. We ordered darkened Mahi Mahi and the seafood mix containing scallops, shrimps and snapper. It was delicious with vegetables and potatoes as sides. The fact that the restaurant is located in an upscale neighborhood takes away some of the individuality, but the experience is worth going as you take a boat to the restaurant and the building is really old authentic. Good.
Had a good seafood dinner here the other night. The grouper and scallops were very fresh and tasty. Service was good and the prices were not too bad. It is a good fun experience with the boat ride to and from the restaurant. In years past the boat captain would tell the history of the place but this guy did not. The resteraunt itself looks rough but it adds to the mystery and history of the place. Nice for a change and to entertain out of town guests.
Amazing ambiance, quaint water taxi and real, old world feel! And some of the best seafood in South Florida!! We came for a birthday and left with amazing memories and an awesome experience. The food particularly the Broiled Seafood Platter and the (ridiculous! Maryland Crabcakes were especially delicious. The bartender was charming and she makes a great martini. Mike, our server, was kind and informative he took great care of our party and made thoughtful recommendations as well. And all that at an incredible value, too! We?ll definitely be back!!
We came here by boat. You can dock it on the side of their dock. The grilled mahi was super fresh. My bf ordered the snapper with lemon and butter garlic sauce and it was good as well. The palm salad is a must have. And the key lime pie was the best I ever had. I really enjoyed my experience here in this historical restaurant. Benita is a very knowledgeable waitress and gave us some great info on the historical facts!
Went here on a Saturday night to celebrate a friend's birthday. The service was amazing and the good was great!!! The waitress told us the history of the restaurant and she was just amazing. The prices are a little high, but worth it. You have to park in a parking area away from the restaurant and take a boat to get there, which makes for an even better experience.
