We had very high hopes for the Moarhof. Your website gives the appearance of a very modern hotel with a focus on good food. They make a lot of their half board gourmet experience. Upon arrival the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The bar... the areas are all very nice. But the room is extremely dated, early 90s style and not what one would expect from a self-assessed 4 star hotel. We would not recommend staying here for much more than one night or two. Dinner was the biggest disappointment. Far away from a gourmet experience, the dinner remembered more of a boarding community. Three limited choices, meat, fish and vegetarians, all very basic and certainly not worthy of any positive recommendation. The worst was the fact that the main course was served with frozen spicy potato wedges of the lids. This hotel is closer to a 3 star and probably best suits people on a budget that are not too special about their food.
We came here a few times and found that the dishes are served nicely and the staff is polite and helpful, but the actual food is disappointing. For example, tartaric acid has too much salt, so much that you can taste nothing else, beef...the fillet is too hard and stingy, the Wiener Schnitzel is thick and chewing, and so on. The selection of wines offered by the glass is extremely limited (such as ~4 red, none of them particularly good). Bottom line is: OK, if you stay at the hotel and don't go outside, but otherwise not a place I would choose.
