Awful meal! Do not recommend! Steak was rubbish and the kids burger was cooked pink!!! Honestly if you are a family I’d definitely avoid! Also no one came over once food had been served to ask how the meals were etc service was not great!

The service and food was excellent from start to finish. The steak was perfectly cooked...compliments to the chef. We would definitely recommend this place for somewhere too eat and a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be eating here again

Absolutely dreadful experience regarding the food. Been here in the past and used the park for the kids and had a few drinks which are spot on. Occasionally we’d have lunch which was ok but what you’d generally expect from a pub grub, did the job. On this particular occasion though we went for dinner, what a massive mistake that was. Steak was like chewing on a placenta, kids burger was pink, chips could have done with more potato to go with the overused fat and the cottage pie had less grains of seasoning sprinkled on it than the amount of seasons in a year. Staff never once asked how the meal was (they clearly knew it was appalling and would have been used to negative reviews previously from other customers). Shame really as it’s a great little pub, they just need to hire a decent chef and and put a little more thought into the grub they serve. P.s A lot of the food ordered was the ‘last’ bit of food they had, this spoke volumes in the quality of food we received!!

I called in for lunch today and it was excellent. Good, tasty home cooked food and pleasant staff in a clean and fresh environment. We will definitely be back!

We used to go to this pub a few years ago and it was lovely, great food and service, then it changed ownership and went downhill. It then closed for a time but when I was in Lichfield recently I saw it was once again open I don’t live nearby . I decided to take my mother for lunch to see what it was like and it was lovely, we arrived and were acknowledged by a young lady behind the bar, I wasn’t sure if we had to order at bar or at table but the young lady said she would take our order, she was very polite and the food was very nice indeed, my mother had salmon and I had gammon but there was plenty of options available, food was hot and perfectly cooked, we prefer these style of pubs to the chains that just microwave everything, the food is not expensive and represents good value for money, great food and service and comfortable surroundings, they have still maintained the country pub feel alongside a shabby chic decor and it works perfectly, I did pass on my praise when I settled the bill and we felt our custom was valued , we will definitely be returning, I did ask if we would be able to bring our dog and the reply was yes of course, they are allowed in bar area which is absolutely fine.
