Fantastic place to visit. Lovely atmosphere, highly recommended to while away a few hours.
Tried the restaurant recently for the first time. Whilst the food was okay the restaurant itself is in need a good clean and upgrade. The floor covering was disgusting. Probably safer to stick to a takeaway.
20 of us landed (after booking) ... has a few drinks in the pub first ... excellent service. No wait at all! Real ales were spot on. Pub was ace went through for meal... the lady in there was so helpful and lovely... helped us all pick food. All meals came out within seconds on each other !! Absolutely millions of dishes sizzling and beautiful . Prices were fab too. Cannot recommend this place enough and can’t wait to go back. We are campervaners and would like to come back in the summer with more vanners for a night... need a Carpark or field
There cannot be many places like this in the whole of the UK. The pub is still an old village pub. The beers are well kept. This is not a 5 star and wow premises. What it is, is cozy, comfortable and rustic. The Cantonese Restaurant is in the old converted stables. The welcome you get from Mandy is genuine and wholesome, she’s quick with the wit and can make any visit there the reason to go back time and again. The food is some of the best you are likely to encounter at any Cantonese. Colourful, tasty, proper proportions and all realistically priced. The rustic surroundings add to the ambience of the whole night out. Why not 5 star ? Well, it is a little tired in places, but none the less enjoyable for it. Give it a whirl........you shouldn’t be disappointed.
1st: the Pub is a fantastic little boozer with friendly helpful staffs, they have a good selection of ales n lagers. Very cozy. Enjoyed all our visits there. Defo recommend it. 2nd. The adjoining Cantonese restaurant/Takeaway is for me the best around, food is second to none. Staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. We have eaten in aswell as had many many takeaways. 1st class food and service. Love it here. Would highly recommend it. XX
