Old Chicago Pizza Taproom - Liberal
Old Chicago Pizza Taproom
Description
Old Chicago in Liberal, Kansas pairs an inviting, clean dining room and standout bartenders with a broad beer list and friendly service ideal for casual meals and celebrations. Menu wins include deep‑dish pizza, hearty sandwiches and refreshing drinks, but kitchen consistency lags: expect small pizza portions, occasional cold plates, missing dressings/sauces and overcooked items. Midrange prices and loyalty perks make it worth trying while the new team refines service.

The hostess was very friendly and sweet. The service was terrible. We waited 10 minutes for the waitress to take our drink order and another 10 minutes to receive our drinks (cider and beer). The blackened chicken salad was dry, burnt chicken with no seasoning. We also ordered pizza rolls but never got them. We had to point that out to the waitress when she brought the bill and then wait for her to remove it. The staff spent more time conversing with each other and were on their phones. Another waitress was extremely fidgety, was wiping her face with her hand, and was constantly pulling at her pants. The cigarette smoke coming inside the restaurant from the open bar window was gross. This is not a restaurant I will return to.
KS 01-2024 Old Chicago Pizza in Liberal Kansas. Tony and I went here today for lunch. I received my birthday reward from them for being a valuable loyal customer which I highly appreciate every year...They gave me a $17.99 coupon to apply towards any Pizza of our choice so I ordered our favorite. A medium deep dish Chicago 7 minus Greem peppers replace with peppercini and extras sauce.Tony had a couple PBRs and I had unsweetened tea With lemon lime delicious and highly recommend this location.Interior and exterior clean and inviting. Our waitress was extremely sweet and helpful. Definitely go if you're given the opportunityI
Parking: Ample parking available. Kid-friendliness: Very kid-friendly with great options and activities to keep them engaged.
First, check the plates for temperature before bringing them to the customers. Ensure the food is hot and ready to enjoy, including the appetizers. When serving, make sure customers have plenty of drinks to get through at least half of their meal or a good portion of it. Also, make an effort to check in on the table a couple more times before they leave and tip. Another quick tip: if you're out of tea and water and notice customers’ drinks are running low while you’re passing by, offer to refill them. It only takes an extra two or three minutes at most. Cover your bases and smile—it might feel like a lot, but it wins customers back every time. I’m not claiming to be an excellent waitress, but I recognize when a night is going poorly because those things happen. Just keep pushing through, and it will ultimately pay off. Again, I apologize if I come across as mean or rude; that’s not my intention. I just want to see your hard work rewarded and no waitress or waiter lose tips because of these issues.
