This is an unsuspecting little joint that hit it out of the park. Gen Tsos, egg rolls, rice, Mongolian all good. Mongolian was good and spicy, fresh green peppers and onions, the Tsos was the right consistency of crispy and well sauced. We were pleasantly surprised and will be back. View all feedback.
What Ray Morgan doesn't like about Tasty China:
I wouldn't venture a guess how long it's been since the restaurant got some love, but it's been awhile. While we were there, we witnessed a steady stream of folks getting take out. I have experienced far better Asian restaurants here in Lexington but they fill a nitch for folks willing to settle.
Good flavor good quantity and very comparable prices. The Egg foo young is great and so is the house special mei fun is our favorite. The atmosphere is because it seems more of a take out joint but they do offer dine in.
We just moved here and needed some hot local food. Ordered hot and spicy beef. Hunan chicken and sechwan (however you spell it) chicken and it was really good!!
I was a bit disappointed that they didn't include a single fortune cookie with our meal. However, I ordered the chicken on a stick appetizer, and it was delicious! The honey chicken was also very tasty. My mom had the beef and broccoli, and she said it was perfect—the balance of beef to broccoli was just right, and there was a great amount of sauce. I’m just puzzled as to why they didn’t provide any fortune cookies.
I ordered from Tasty China for the first time, as we usually go to Salisbury since it's closer, but not anymore. We tried the General Tso chicken combination meal, and it was fantastic! I didn’t realize how much I had been missing; I used to think Chinese food was just dry chicken with a lot of sauce to make it palatable. However, the chicken was so tender that it fell apart with just a fork. The rice was soft and moist, not hard or overcooked like day-old rice. Everything was fresh and delicious. My only wish is that they provided extra sauce and included onions in their rice. We'll definitely be making the drive to Lexington more often!
