Newly renovated in Lexington Center, Sanyo blends contemporary elegance with authentic Japanese and Chinese cuisine. A bright, cozy dining room and full bar showcase skilled bartenders crafting standout cocktails alongside a diverse menu—fresh sushi, inventive entrees, vegetarian choices, a generous dessert area and a popular lunch buffet. Portions lean modest and prices sit on the higher side, but attentive, friendly service and distinct, high-quality flavors make it a return-worthy spot for date nights, groups and fans of refined Asian fare.

The bartender inquired about my usual drink, and when I mentioned tequila, he prepared a delightful ginger margarita for me. I also ordered a hot and sour soup, which was incredibly satisfying. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and the ambiance was warm and inviting. Thank you!

Renovated with new owner. Used to be the Yangtze River. I love this place so much more than the old one. Authentic delicious Japanese and Chinese food. Full bar with great bartenders. Place is clean and beautiful. Love the managers and staff.

For those who remember the old Yangtze River, which was almost 40 years in the Lexington Center, Sanyo is at the same place. The place has beautifully and expensively rebuilt. The lunch buffet is still available. The food is prepared in small quantities and constantly refreshed. Sushi is available as part of the buffet. Great dessert area. Food is excellent. Less complaints tea is calculated per person, but is tasty and service was simply ok. Everything in a great place to eat. Buffet is $15.95 per person. Look at it. You'll be glad you did it.

Delicious! We just had another dinner at the bar, and I adore the bright atmosphere, the welcoming staff, and the contemporary decor. The food is fantastic as well. I particularly enjoy the roasted rice with water chestnuts! After three visits, we can confidently say that all the bartenders are quite skilled and know how to make a great medium martini! We will definitely return and hope that Lexington will continue to evolve now that it has changed ownership and is no longer Yangtze.

Formerly known as the Yangtze River, the newly renovated space offers a cozy and elegant ambiance. We visited for dinner and found the vegetarian options to be fresh and delicious. While the prices are somewhat high for the portion sizes (especially compared to street restaurants in Beijing), the ingredients appear to be fresher and the flavors are more distinct.
