Got here late so only got takeout but the food was very basic. Service was a bit slow and they didn't know their menu. If you want cheap food to sit down for this is a decent place. If you're in a hurry or want better service then this ain't it. Wish I could say better since it's my first time but this is getting 6 out of 10 deportations for not hitting the restaurant experience on the mark. View all feedback.
What Sandy C doesn't like about O'Charley's:
So, this will be the last time eating here for me. This is the 2nd time in less than 2 months I've eaten here and employees are not wearing mask and management is not making them or making customers wear them. People who had already eaten were leaving the dining room carrying their masks...My food (baked potato and broccoli) was lukewarm. I reported the mask issue the first time I was here... obviously they could car... View all feedback.
Props to all the restaurants doing curbside and delivery during this quarantine stay safe at home time that we 're living in. But special props to O 'Charleys restaurant on Nicholasville Rd. O 'Charleys is getting this whole curbside and delivery prep service right they know how to package their food for delivery and still make sure their customers receive a quality meal comparative to what they would get if they were dining in. Recently, my son who is working in another state, called me up for Mother 's Day and wanted to order my husband and I a meal delivered from any restaurant in Lexington. My choice. My Mother 's Day gift. I didn 't hesitate when choosing from where to get this meal. I chose O 'Charleys on Nicholasville Rd. Why? Because I know that O 'Charleys knows how to prep and package their food for delivery so that we receive a quality meal much like if we were dining in with them. Precious few can boast that ability. Sure enough, when our delivery arrived it was delicious. Partly because their food is quality and so good and partly because they do the little things that add up to the big things. My chicken pieces came wrapped in foil so they stayed warm like they 're supposed to; they remembered the salad dressing and the rolls and even sent the butter. They are one of my go to delivery places because I know I will get a great meal thanks to their extra effort and attention to detail. They use Door Dash for their delivery and even though I don 't care for Door Dash because they upcharge a restaurant 's menu prices on every item and they add some mysterious fees and then you have deliver charge and tip but I will bear all that to get the stellar packaging and thoughtfulness of O 'Charleys! Thanks staff! Props to all those eateries feeding us through this crisis but big recognition and shout out to the peeps over at O 'Charley 's on Nicholasville Road in Lexington!
Family night at O'Charley's was great. Plenty of parking and No Reservations needed. Very friendly service and comfortable seating. One of my favorites is the dinner roll butter basket they offer when seated. We love it because rolls are perfect with dinner entree and it's good for a little snack while you wait.
Typically I avoid sharing a review for any place that rates 3 stars or less. That said, today I'm making the exception in hopes the cooking staff can translate and do better for future patrons. I ordered the 9oz salmon with asparagus and smashed potatoes. Let's begin with the center of the plate, the salmon. The grain of the entire filet should flake when done. The center should be moist and the edges should remain fork tender. What the filet should not be is welded shut center to edge and dry as the Dead Sea. I'll admit, fish filets can be a challenge to get right, especially if your juggling the cook time and timing of other orders. But if your the cook on point and it's not right (and this poor fish was visually torched), don't pass it through the window. Otherwise, everything else was OK. The place was clean, the wait staff was attentive, the manager seemed engaged as he walked the floor to assist his staff. I get it, it's not a sea food restaurant, but no item should be on a menu that can't be executed (well). Not sure I'll return but confident I'll avoid the salmon in the future.
So after Church the wife and I decided to grab a bite to eat before we started our errands. Being that we have a O'Charleys in Ashland Kentucky, and since we haven't been here in a while, we wanted to eat here and try the Lexington Restaurant. So we ordered the Loaded Potato Skins and placed our drink order. Well the Skins came out and were delicious, also our waitress was such a delight to serve us. We then ordered our entrees Where the wife ate Salmon and I had Filet Mignon. The steak was juicy and my broccoli and asparagus were good. My wife's salmon was very good and her broccoli while it was triple steamed, she absolutely loved it too. I'm giving this place a 5 Star because from the host, to the waitress, to the manager coming over to our table was such a delight beginning to end. I'd post pictures of our food but, we were so hungry I forgot. If you want to enjoy a nice restaurant with a good and relaxing atmosphere, this O'Charleys won't disappoint you.
I've been to this location on several occasions and I'm most always satisfied with the food and service. I usually get either the french dip sandwich, fish chips, or the chicken pot pie. The french dip is tender, juicy and has a great flavor to it. The fish and chips are served up in huge portions, so I typically end up taking some home. And with the chicken pot pie, it's savory and a comfort food so you can't really go wrong with it. Joe will typically get the Louisiana sirloin because he loves sirloin and the Cajun butter that comes on it. On occasion, he will try the prime rib but he will more often than not complain that it's more fat than meat. Also, two great things to note: Sunday brunch, and free pie Wednesdays! Sunday brunch here is pretty good. I can get eggs benedict and mimosas, so I'm a happy camper. Then, with your meal purchase on Wednesdays you'll get free pie so that's a happy bonus. I normally get apple and Joe will get cherry. I'd love to see some seasonal choices like lemon or key lime. That would be amazing.
