Gina's Trattoria - Lexington

We stopped here to eat on our way to Virginia Beach, and we're so glad we did! The food was excellent! I highly recommend this place.

I had an incredible meal! I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, and the sauce was delightful, while the meatballs were full of flavor. My husband enjoyed the pizza, which was also excellent. I highly recommend this place!

Nice Italian place. Dining room is not fancy but basic. Menu has lots of choices. Good for lunch or dinner. I love locally and my wife and I like to come here a few times a year.

The salads had wilted, brown lettuce, and both ended up in the trash. One salad even came with the wrong dressing, despite the correct one being listed on the receipt. Plus, there were no olives in the salad. The packets of dressing just seemed like a risk for foodborne illness—someone really should reconsider that practice. The breadsticks were also unusual. I’m curious if they make their pizza dough in-house. On a side note, we received no utensils, napkins, or Parmesan cheese—those could have been nice additions for takeout orders. My husband says I have high standards, so keep that in mind when reading my review. Also, remember that I come from an Italian family; we still celebrate the Feast of the Seven Fishes after midnight mass, grow our own tomatoes for sauce, and make cheesecakes that are at least five inches tall—just like our hair!

A hidden gem. I was just passing through on my way home to Philadelphia and found an Italian restaurant with amazing pizza. This family friendly sit down or take out restaurant was truly delight. Very friendly service. Did I mention the pizza was amazing?! Pizza had a chewy crunch crust with fresh mozzarella, homemade sauce, and a hint of fresh basil. Will definitely be back next time I’m in this area.
