What MrWandle likes about Mamma Dough:
We got Mamma Dough’s DIY pizza kit for the kids to have some lockdown fun. One kit made two pizzas and using the semolina provided with the sourdough worked well. Really tasty, apparently not as good as the experts make in the restaurant but much better that anything else you can eat at home. Top quality ingredients, good instructions and friendly help from the staff on pick up. View all feedback.
What EctoplasmFantasia doesn't like about Mamma Dough:
The food is great. But the following takes it down to average for me in a very crowded marketplace: Lack of ingredients, drinks etc. excuse being it 's 'the end of the month '. I had to work through 3 soft drinks to get one I wanted (If it was my business I 'd change supply process) Cutlery on the table but no knives. Another table had the same issue. Was not pointed to specials in any way When asked for a dessert ne... View all feedback.
At first we decided to share the Sardinian meat plate 6.) there were three types of cured meat, an excellent pickle and some of the homemade sourdough. the salami at the top of the boards was a fiery number with a real chili-kick. the homemade sourdough had no smoke from the many and the crumb was quite dense. If it were one of my loaves, I would be a little disappointed. I thought it was an excellent value at 6. the pickle could have been worth the money alone.
What I loved without doubt was the tiramisu 4.) it was luscious, rich and beautifully balanced. I'm sure I'll eat again soon. also the chocolate brew 3.50) was good and I liked the vanille ice cream especially. however, no dessert wanted to infinite the tiramisu.
A delicious pizza place in the beautiful SE suburbs. Gr8 atmosphere, really nice internal staff is decent. cost as much as they would expect, not too expensive to grab the specials for only 11£. had a beautiful butternut squash and feta pizza, top notch. w pleasant meal, will be back at a point
I can’t say a bad word about this restaurant or the food the pizzas are divine! The service is always polite and friendly and staff so accommodating. Tonight in particular, some delightfully moronic delivery driver working for Deliveroo, decided to eat half of my pizza and leave the rest of it on my door step before speeding off. Thanks to one of Mamma dough’s staff members, I received a replacement shortly after (the Deliveroo reporting app was also refusing to submit that my item was missing). I am SO sorry as I can’t remember her name but she got in her OWN car to drive to my house to bring me a freshly made pizza in my hangry desperation. Now that’s kindness and love! Thank you so much to you personally angel girl and to all the staff at Mamma dough you went the extra mile and then some <3 Laura
Hey, just to give you the context quickly, we've been to your restaurant twice in person and we ordered pizza once through Deliveroo. The deliveroo was okay. First time we went to your restaurant on the 5th of November 2021. We ordered a meat board and specifically said we'd like to have it as a starter. Now, if I would have been the waiter, I wouldn't have complicated it too much, I would have put through the meat board, exit the order, then separately I would have ordered the pizzas too. This way, meat board comes asap, then pizzas come as soon as they're ready. Your restaurant was semi busy and it also seemed that deliveroo and similar things were a priority. We didn't get anything for like 40ish minutes, but then your waiters/waitresses never actually tried or established any eye contact either. After 40 minutes, our pizzas arrived, but our meat board was not there. We then mentioned how we're still waiting for our meat board, so they took our pizzas back, we got our meat board then after around another 40 minutes we got our pizzas too. We were quite upset and hungry and disappointed that we wasted so much time for such an easy and straightforward meal. I mean pizzas take 3 minutes to make in your oven. We said, fine, it happens. It was obvious that your staff are young people who just want a job but otherwise they don't have the necessary experience whatsoever to actually care enough about hospitality. So we took it as a single, ehh experience. They also gave us some brownies at the end for free, but then also charged the service charge. The pizzas were great btw, really good quality, absolutely great. About your current prices for the service and quality of food, I'll get back on that later. After this occasion, I once ordered just a normal margarita through Deliveroo and it was okay. Afterall we also just live 5 minutes walk from your restaurant, so delivery, temperature, quality, it was all fine. Then I popped into your restaurant today and OHH BOYY! You had three staff there, someone at the oven, and 2 on the floor. A male and a female. I ordered pizzas for us adults and the kids. I specifically mentioned and made my point clear, that for the kids, I either want a full big pizza with literally nothing on it, because my kids don't want or like the cheese or tomato sauce but I had the sensation that your waiter doesn't really get my point. I then looked at the menu and saw you have a kids menu. I said alright, let's do that. I ordered from your kids menu, and I said I would like to have the kids menu pizza, two of them, with literally nothing on them, since, like I said earlier and said it once again, my kids won't touch it with cheese and/or tomato on it. I was told it was fine. I gotta mention some stories here while our pizzas were being prepared. Your waiter charged me straight for the £5 versions of the kids menus which also come with the ice creams, that twice, so I was overcharged with £3 in total. It wasn't a big deal but I had to notice that myself and then we sorted it out with me asking for some sparkling water and then getting the staff soda. But again, this is not a big deal, just adding to the list of hiccups. I'd like to note that this was the point when I noticed some absolute disgrace to hospitality. Since it was around 5PM, your restaurant had like 1 table or so. And since your waiter was on the floor and taking care of stuff, your waitress sat down by the window, put her white bluetooth headsets on and was listening to music. Your waiter in the meantime got busy making some coffees and then some other guests queued up at the door. Your waitress then took one of the headphones out of her ears, and with her phone in her hand, walked the guests to their table, while still holding one of the bluetooth headset in hear ears listening to her stuff and having her phone over the top of the menus she was holding to walk the guests to their table. Then she came back, put the headsets back and sat down listening to her music, watching her phone. I mean excuse me but I never seen anything like this before. Such a disgrace to hospitality, absolute embarrassment. Just no more comments on this, I let you interpret that. Pizzas came, took them home, guess what. Kids pizzas are bunny shaped margaritas with tomato sauce and cheese and basil. It was super cute by the way, but my point was totally missed. My kids had no food, since they wouldn't touch that, that's why I specifically ordered what I ordered.. At least they could eat the ears of the bunnies and we sorted out the rest with whatever food we had at home. Regarding the quality of the pizza, well, it wasn't what we experienced the first time. The pizza tasted nothing. It looked really good and well made, but the tomato sauce, the cheese was absolutely bland and tasteless. We had the devil £13 and the dirty boy £13. So, for today's aMaZiNg experience I paid £36. Now let me tell you something, we used to go to Franco Manca. So I was thinking after today to check out their menus, and yes, they also became more expensive. But guess what, I never had a bad experience with them having tried their restaurants in Greenwich, Bermondsey street, Soho and God knows where else. Their pizzas are all less than £10 apart from the current chef offers. so £9 9.95 for their meat/anchovy pizzas compared to your £13 pizzas. They also don't decide about the service charge, since they let you tip what you want, so you do that accordingly. So we gave you 2 chances and you failed us both times quite miserably. I learned to give feedback, so hopefully you can try and iterate over it and pull your stuff together cuz I believe today's competitive market doesn't allow you to keep giving such low service. I do really hope you fix your stuff because for the money you are charging there should be no mistakes. have a great day, Hunor
