Reviews - Diella's
Reviews summary
Diellas in Seaford offers a mixed dining experience, with some patrons raving about the excellent service, generous portions, and delicious food, particularly the steaks and pavlovas. However, others found the decor dated, food bland, and owner's interactions inappropriate. The set menu is praised for value, with options like fish and chips, cappuccino, and Knickerbocker glory standing out. The welcoming staff are noted to be attentive, despite some mixed reviews. Overall, Diellas offers a traditional Italian feel with hits and misses, catering to various tastes and occasions.

Fancied a lunch out and Diellas does not disappoint for these prices. The pork in Calvados is very good and my melon was just ripe and went well with the parma ham. Service with a smile too View all feedback.
What Ethan Wilkinson dislikes about Diella's:
I have to say I am shocked at all the good reviews. Clearly most of the diners have never experienced proper Italian food. The decor is dated and stuck in a time warp, the menu very uninspiring. The table was sticky....yuk. We left most of...the food as it was bland and tasteless. I can knock up a better meal in my kitchen or even get a better pizza from Morrisons across the road. There are much better choices nearby... View all feedback.

I've recently discovered Diellas after more than ten years in Newhaven. Good food, some dishes even excellent. Genial host, like Luca at Locanda del Duca, Eastbourne's premier Italian restaurant. Parking: If you combine dining with a Morrisons shop, always room in their underground parking. Free street parking, visually within fifty yards. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £2030 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Seafood Linguine Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free street parking
Very nice place for a lovely meal friendly staff and excellent service. Highly Recommended 5 Star Review Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Felt prawn cocktail should have been in a dish rather than on a plate. More bread required. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £20–30 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
Had Christmas lunch today with friends at Diellas. Always good food and service at this restaurant. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £30–40
A great experience. We felt warmly welcomed, and appreciated the owner’s conversational skills. All staff great, special mention for Jenny. Full of mischievous exchanges, and a talented desserts chef too! Food was of the highest standard, and the whole evening very enjoyable. See you soon! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Once a month I go out with a group of ladies. Its normally in a restaurant. This month we chose Diellas in Seaford. Its a lovely restaurant right in the heart of Seaford. We had preordered our meal. I chose prawn cocktail followed by pork loin slices in a lovely sauce. The pork came with French fries veggies. Very tasty. Looking forward to eating here again. The meal was in a special offer. So that was even better.
Been many times since our last review and it continues to improve and impress. Pork in calvados was exceptional. Chargrilled lamb absolutely delightful. Make the effort to make a visit.
We went with friends on Friday and to be totally blunt it was terrible. Save your money and go elsewhere as the food was a disgrace, boxes of wine stacked up in the restaurant itself. You can only feel sorry for the waiting staff having to serve up such poor food. I’m surprised this place is still trading as I cannot see how anyone would return,
Second visit to Diellas and once again not disappointed. Great atmosphere, great menu and great service.
Our 2nd stay in Seaford tried Diellas for an early evening meal after a busy day walking. Had made no reservation the place was buzzing at 6.45pm, but we were welcomed accommodated warmly by the host. Great service, lovely food just what we were looking for both loved the whitebait wine by the glass is always a benefit for us. reasonable price too, so value for money will be back!!

I have visited this restaurant multiple times. They are able to make cream pasta sauces using soy cream, and I have enjoyed their mushroom stroganoff made with soy cream and soy protein. The staff is knowledgeable about vegan options, and many menu items are either vegan or can be easily adapted.
There is a vegan option available only in the evening at this restaurant. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be any vegan options in the afternoon. They mentioned that they can prepare something if I call ahead, but I prefer to walk in without prior notice. I also prefer to see the vegan items and prices on the menu before entering. I do not have allergies, I just choose not to consume animal products. It is important to me to be able to enjoy a dessert as well.

There is a vegan option available only in the evening at this restaurant. It doesn't seem to be available during the afternoon. They mentioned that they can accommodate vegan requests if I call ahead, but I prefer to see vegan items and prices on the menu before going in. I don't want to be treated differently because I don't have any allergies, I just prefer not to eat meat. I also enjoy having dessert options available.
I have visited this restaurant multiple times. They offer the option to substitute regular cream with soy cream in their pasta sauces, and I tried the mushroom stroganoff made with soy cream and soy protein which was delicious. The staff is knowledgeable about vegan options, and there are many vegan-friendly menu items or options that can be modified to be vegan.
I'm not quite sure if I went to another restaurant for all the good reviews, but I couldn't describe the experience as something other than terrible when we visited last week! The food was ok, quite bland and inspiring, and the staff was very welcoming....The terrible element is the patronage of the owner and simply rude attitude besides, terrible inappropriate jokes. Maybe it's me that is clearly lacking in any sense of humor, but I was shocked that welcoming could be so bad and so terrible inappropriate. I haven't experienced anything bad since the 1980s with regard to how small and unwilling I feel. Perhaps this is one of the cucumbers that people love the restaurant, but it is certainly not for me!
Thought we had a pizza today and how diella's good reviews thought it was worth a try. as a certain age when we arrived, we noticed others in the same classification and thought it looked like a lunch club for renters. far away from. as it turned out and the average age of the diners fell quickly. what made the time so much better than just the good food was the owner who chatted with each and took orders / after need. customers felt that they were important and were special. What about eating? the best olives for a long time, well loaded delicious pizzas, great selection of puddings and beveridges ice cream especially pleasant. the owner told us he didn't look at tripadvisor. obviously he knew what was important to others without criticism/bouquets.
