Highly suggest saving room for the semifreddo amazing!!! You can 't go wrong with this restaurant (they even have menus in English). Tip: make a reservation!!

We waited at least an hour the line was out the door. If you are American you probably wouldn't know but you have to go to the front and write your name down on a clipboard. If you're lucky enough to wait on the inside have a glass of wine as they add it to your tab at the end. Once you're finally seated you order your pizza and literally it's heaven in your mouth. The Truffle Pizza is out standing, as was the award winner. I didn't really care for the red sauce mushroom pizza it just kind of lacked any pizzazz but I guess if you compare it to the other pizzas we had it just was boring. The focaccia. You must. Do not leave here without having it it literally loses cheese soon as you cut into it. It was legitimately the most delicious Focaccia I have had in all of Cinque Terre

We were told to expect a wait if we di... read more We enjoyed mighty fine pizza for a late dinner. After spending the day wandering the Cinque Terre we returned to Levanto. We were told to expect a wait if we didn't go early. We didn't go early so we were willing to wait, we slowly paced back and forth in the small street just outside the door. If we had ordered the pizza to go we probably could have eaten sooner but we preferred to dine in so we could watch the pizza being created. Neither my travel buddy or I ordered any of the Pizza Championship Award Winners, we both opted for much simpler fare. Once you are seated and place your order the pizza arrives in a timely manner. It was excellent! Honestly the best pizza I've had, and I've enjoyed pizza all over Italy on several different trips. We really enjoyed our table as it was one of the closest to the kitchen so we had great entertainment while waiting for the meal to arrive.

Having the opportunity to travel to Italy to try every pasta, gelato, and pizza around was great! La Picea is located in the beautiful, scenic, and quiet town of Levanto, Italy. If you are in Cinque Terre, it's minutes away from you! Some reviews are saying that there are consistently large lines, which can be misleading. It really depends what day and at what time. My airbnb was right next door to La Picea, so I was able to see the times that peaked. For my fellow Americans, remember that Europe is traditionally different when it comes to hours of operations for restaurants. The majority will open for a few hours, close up, then open up in the evening. If you are going to try the award winning pizzeria, I recommend lunch time between 12pm 130pm any day. Now let's get to the food! If you are expecting a New York slice, that's not what they are known for, so do go with an open mind and a large appetite. The pizzas are very unique and interesting. We got the Mortadella and La Gola. I have the menus attached for the full descriptions of the pies. Just know that they are worth every dime. The pizzas are cooked well and aren't heavy with dough. They are more on the thin crust side with a slight crunch. House wine is cheap here so definitely indulge in a liter of it with your pie! Enjoy!
