La Terrasse - Leucate

La Terrasse is such a welcoming place overlooking the Mediterranean... what is not to like? We had just walked along the beach and fancied a drink. Reasonable prices. We also ended up having an ice cream as well because they were so tempting. The Versailles was a particularly delicious ice cream creation!

Had a very good lunch here in June 2019. Delicious fish main and ice cream desserts. Staff very friendly.

We have just ordered morning coffee at La Terrasse and it has left a bitter taste. The waitress was rude and uncommunicative. Her expression was one of having been inconvenienced and of disdain. She did not utter a single word, either when she took our order, or when delivered the coffees. She just looked pained throughout. We had asked for two cafes allonges, with cold milk on the side. We did get that, but the bill stated that we'd had two grands cremes. These always cost more than allonges. My husband queried it and was told that they were the same price. As I said, we have never experienced that in all our time in France. 6.60€ for two cafes allonges. Really? We visit Leucate Plage frequently and would like to have tried this place for a meal as the reviews are generally good. We shan't now. But, by the demeanour of the staff this morning, they would probably prefer it if we didn't. Quelle dommage.

Adage "we don't have twice the opportunity to make a good first impression" should be part of the restaurateur's profession. You will understand it we have been very badly received, fortunately not by the server but by I suppose the boss who has groned it by what this dernièr has placed us at a table too great to his taste for our poor little group of 4. For the rest, nothing extraordinary, we pay just the seaside. The plates are, on the other hand, copier.
