We got a take away here as all the restaurants were full. The burritos were awful, as were the nachos. The inside of the restaurant didn't look all that clean. To be avoided.
We wandered in off the street as a group of 6 at around 7.30pm. we were told the only table for 6 that was free was reserved for 9pm, but we could have it until then. As we had small children with us, we thought that was fine. The Italian/Mexican menu had food for everyone and the service was friendly and we were able to communicate in a mixture of French and English. The location was very atmospheric as there were many market stalls set up in the square selling products by local artists, a musician and many families enjoying the social space. The food was tasty, both the pasta and the Mexican dishes, and when it came time to order desserts, we reminded them that the table was wanted for 9pm, but we were told there was no problem, to take our time and another table for 6 was made up for the 9pm booking. We were able to enjoy a leisurely evening and felt very welcome.
We hiked over the camagne from La Franqui, and arraived at Leucate at aroung 1.30pm and found this little restaurant by accident. As veggie-vegans we love Mexican food. My husband and daughter had the veggie barrito, and I was able pick from the sides a delicious vegan tortilla with guacamole, home made salsa and beans. Lovely little place. Hope to go back again, although a little on the expensive side.
Fantastic food, atmosphere and service. The special pasta was superb cooked by Aldo the owner and chef
Having earlier in the day spotted La Bamba, thinking we saw an Irish flag outside, we returned for dinner that evening. He ate Mexican and I had Italian. The nachos were superb and the chimichanga divine. My starter of mixed verdure was the best I've ever taste followed by an excellent pasta Genovese. Washed down with a very nice montepulciano and ended with two coffees . Fabulous value at less than E60. We'll be back!
