Feedback
Nestled near the scenic Carrigart Boardwalk, a recent dining experience at Hooked has drawn mixed feedback from patrons. While some guests praised the restaurant for its delicious food and stunning views, others found the overall experience lacking. Complaints included a limited menu, bland dishes, and unenthusiastic service. Diners highlighted the battered haddock and chocolate brownie as standout items, yet the underwhelming presentation and high prices left some feeling disappointed. Despite some drawbacks, the restaurant's friendly staff and accommodating atmosphere may still appeal to those seeking a vibrant coastal dining experience. Reservations are recommended due to its popularity.
I was really looking forward to visiting this restaurant again after a long time but was very disappointed. The prices have gone up drastically and the quality of food has declined significantly. It's a shame that they couldn't maintain their standards. I wouldn't recommend rushing back here.
The food was delicious, the view was breathtaking, and the staff were fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant. The fish dishes were amazing.
Visited Hooked restaurant yesterday after walking the Carrigart Boardwalk. Just had coffee and cake which was delicious. So busy with food which looked delicious.Spectacular views will definitely be back for food and drinks. Lovely staff and great service.
We were staying in the adjacent Donegal Boardwalk resort and managed to eat in Hooked on one evening. We got stunning weather so secured a table outside for our family of four. They had great options that catered to all tastes- a decent children's menu,...options for vegetarians, fish lovers and carnivores alike! We enjoyed a modestly priced bottle of wine (which was delicious and two courses each, coffees and ice creams all round afterwards, and all for under When it got cooler a little later we finished our coffees inside which wasn’t a problem. Staff were very friendly and couldn’t have done more for us throughout the meal. Only slight complaint is the differing information we received regarding booking- initially we were told it was walk in only but when we attempted walking in they were full- turns out they take bookings! Be sure to book in advance as it gets busy but it is worth it!
The dining experience was very lackluster. The options were not great. The Thai red curry was bland and disappointing. The chicken dish was unexciting. The steak was decent, but could have been better. The battered haddock and chips seemed to be the best out of all the choices. The desserts were okay, but nothing special. Overall, there are better dining options available, so it is recommended to save money and dine elsewhere.
